Body Armor

Posted on August 11, 2014 by Wes in An Inspirational Thought for Today

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  Ephesians 6:11

Much of our modern day body armor is worn on the torso and made of Kevlar.  Kevlar is a matrix of woven materials engineered to stop bullets or small fragments of explosives from passing through and causing serious injury to the body.

Kevlar-Body-Armor-Level-IIIA-NIJ-Certified-10There is still pain from the impact of the projectile but not the devastation and damage that the full force of a bullet ripping through the flesh and internal organs would produce.  The goal of wearing body armor is not to stop all the pain, but to keep the bullets external.

The spiritual Kevlar God has for us is His righteousness. He purchased it for us and knows what is coming our way.  Putting on the full armor of God and living righteously will help us be able to withstand the spiritual attacks and schemes of the devil.  The Bible tells us to Guard your heart above all else, because it determines the course of your life Proverbs 4:23.

Guard your heart and mind–your control center.  Jesus taught multiple times that the biggest threat is not what is happening on the outside of us, but what is going on inside of us.

Do you recognize your vulnerabilities?  Are you living in ways that leave you unprotected from the projectiles of life or are you clothed for the battle?  Ask God for wisdom, and take an inside look at yourself and your areas of exposure.  Make the needed changes so you can be successful at winning the war with your inner self.

Be protected from the spiritual battles of life today by living with the armor of righteousness.

Lord, help us to live with an understanding of our weaknesses and to be strong with wise choices and keep us safe we pray.

Spiritual Kevlar, don’t go into the battle without it.

Blessings,
