Going Viral

Posted on August 23, 2015 by Wes in An Inspirational Thought for Today

The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did!” So the people came streaming from the village to see Jesus. Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus that day. John 4:4-42 (condensed)

The full account of this story in the gospel of John describes a woman thirsty for truth. As Jesus talked with her at the local water source, she found in Him what she was truly thirsty for – the truth about herself. He quenched her spiritual thirst, which sent her running to tell everyone about the One that was more interested in her soul than her body.

Jesus’ compassion looked past the woman’s past and focused on her future. He offered her peace in the midst of her confusion and grace where she needed it most. Her encounter with Jesus went viral. She ran back to her community and shared the change that had overcome her. Many were changed that day as a result.

Are you struggling under the crushing pressures of life? Are you looking for peace in the midst of your storm? Do you need a strong dose of truth mingled with grace? Look no further than Jesus – the lover of your soul.

Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Romans 8:5-8 MSG

Your testimony about Jesus is a powerful tool in leading others to believe in Him. If you have experienced God’s grace, share the good news. Go viral with the truth of your life.
