Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. 1 John 2:15-17 (NLT)
If a person is valued in life because of what they wear, the title they bear, or the office they hold, their value is artificial. The true character and integrity within is what make us valuable. No one can purchase character, and it cannot be transferred from one party to another. It must be developed by individuals seeking the best for others.
He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
If we can walk through the mall of vanities and travel the streets of fame emerging untainted by the world’s goods, we have honored God. Many things are good for a while, but godly living has no expiration date.
Blessings,
