When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him? Psalm 8:3-4
I feel closer to God when I’m out in nature. His creation is so majestic and to think He did all this for our enjoyment. Pausing to take in the colorful splendor of a summer sunset connects us with Him like nothing else. When we take the time to pause and absorb the beauty of His creation through sight, smell, sound, and touch, our soul is refreshed.
The Creator had us in mind when He painted the flowers, flung the stars, and shaped our bodies. He had our eternity in mind when he sent Jesus to display His extravagant, unconditional, relentless love and forgiveness.
Consider God’s great love for you today, and literally take a moment to smell the roses. If you want to get closer to Him, get outside and enjoy His creation.
