April 2013 Volume 2 Issue 4
I am glad to be in the month of April! March was a very busy month. I was called upon to provide support for an unusually high number of trauma and grief cases. I responded to five callouts with C.A.S.T., conducted a memorial service for a friend’s brother, and traveled to Texas for the funeral of my cousin’s husband who took his own life. All these are reminders of how precious life is. Make a point today to tell those who are special to you how much you love them.
I am finding there are many serving in our police department that grew up with faith but through the stresses of life and the service they provide through law enforcement, they have become dormant and even critical of faith. I have been told by a number of officers they are hearing conversations now around the police department that were previously considered taboo. “People talk about prayer, faith, God and thankfulness. It is because of the things God is doing through the influence of CODE 7.” If that excites you, imagine how I feel! Praise God things are changing and that He is still reviving souls that were considered dry and dead.
All of this is made possible by prayers and the Lord’s provision through you. Thank you. Your support is keeping me in the front seat of a patrol car 20+ hours a week. Please pray for me as I endeavor to walk daily in Christ’s footsteps and follow His example as I serve as Chaplain.
If you have a favorite dinner spot, consider purchasing a gift card next time you eat there, and send it to CODE 7. We will add it to our monthly giveaways to the officers.
Blessings,
Wes Anderson
