Dear Family and Friends,
I have been receiving questions as to what my next step is since I left Calvary. I see the hand of God directing me and confirming His calling for the next season of my life. I figured since it is now clear to me, it was time to share it with you.
First of all, I plan to continue writing and sharing my devotional messages through email. Secondly, the Lord gave me the heart and a vision to start a ministry supporting the law enforcement community by demonstrating the love of Christ to those serving and protecting our cities. I desire to be one who serves those serving us. God has uniquely gifted me and has proven this calling through years of consistent service, and now the doors have opened wide for me to minister.
I am thrilled to announce the launching of CODE 7. To the police, going CODE 7 is a request to go “Out of Service” for a brief time to eat or take a break during their shift. A large part of my service is done in the patrol car forging healthy relationships and bringing influence as a chaplain by understanding the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of the officers and their families. I have found that during a ride along, going CODE 7 and sharing a meal with a patrol officer is where many meaningful conversations occur, and opportunities to minister the love of Jesus are present. I am also working to build a culture of prayer within the Police Department that will stimulate spiritual health and greater stability in times of crisis.
Law enforcement personnel daily absorb toxic situations the general population will never see or care to know about. We saw yesterday in the news the most horrific situation our nation has encountered during my lifetime–the shooting deaths of 20 children at an elementary school. My heart broke as I thought of all the brave officers and first responders that had to rush to the scene and the horror they had to ingest once they arrived. The internal trauma and pain they had to navigate while managing the scene is more than we will ever know or be able to understand. It is my hope that God has raised up an army of faithful believers to walk through the valley of death with each family who lost a loved one and each individual involved in giving care.
If you believe in my calling and the ministry I described, and want to be a part of bringing the presence of God into a police car and beyond, I invite you to take the journey and partner with me prayerfully, financially, or both.
CODE 7 has linked itself with Going Global Inc., my father-in-law’s non-profit organization, whose mission is to meet the needs of others by providing support during critical times. If the Lord puts on your heart to give support to me one time or ongoing, please direct your gift of any size to “Going Global” at the address above.
Thank you for loving me. I covet your prayers always.
Blessings,
Wes Anderson
