Mr. Joseph-son

Posted on December 22, 2013 by Wes in An Inspirational Thought for Today

“Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked. Luke 4:22

When the people that knew Jesus heard him speak, they discounted his words.  They considered him just a regular guy with a regular life–he’s just the carpenter, Joseph’sson, they contended.

They missed the fact that Jesus was the gift of God to our sinful world.  They were ignorant to the fact that everything He spoke was truth and all He did was divine.  They did not recognize the Forgiver of sins and the Savior of the world.

No matter the reaction of people, Jesus fulfilled the desires of His Heavenly Father.  He was faithful to fulfill the mission He was sent to do on earth.  I recently heard the Christmas message summarized this way: “He came to our place (earth), to take our place (on the cross), so that we could go to His place (heaven).”

As you ponder the story of Jesus’ birth this Christmas, I hope you remember the actual event we are celebrating.  The God of love packaged up in a little bundle of flesh sent to pay for our sin.  Jesus said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

May you find the peace of God in the truth of Jesus this Christmas.

Blessings,
